I’m talking about long videos, not short ones.
The click-through rate on long videos is incredibly low. With 1,000 impressions, there are only a few clicks, worse than short videos.
Even the most click-worthy and profitable topics have the same results.
After careful consideration, the only topics attracting clicks right now are trending news topics. This kind of content that happens every day is what users will click on.
While it may not be useful, interesting, or engaging, people are inevitably curious and experience information anxiety. This curiosity makes livestreams, real-time interactions, and hot news stories a must-see for everyone.
YouTube is a self-media platform, and the essence of self-media is to focus on news hotspots, even deliberately creating them.
I plan to try compiling news information daily, such as the AI-powered video creation app Sora2, which I’ve been following recently.
