The daily life of a digital nomad: The rented house is never well soundproofed, making it unsuitable for making noise at night.

Soundproof rental

Having rented countless apartments, the biggest problem is soundproofing.

Unless it’s deep in the mountains, I can always hear noises from next door, downstairs, or upstairs, especially late at night.

Sometimes I want to record narration videos, but by the time I get busy, it’s already night, and everyone can hear me, which is very embarrassing.

Legally and morally, it’s not advisable to be too loud at night. Personally, I don’t want others to hear what I’m saying or what I’m saying.

But so far, apart from my hometown village, it’s practically impossible to find good soundproofing in the city. Even a slightly loud voice can be heard from neighboring buildings.

So, since I can’t change the environment, I can only adapt to it.

For example, what can I do at night without making any noise, and how can I earn money?

Late at night

I need to jot things down promptly, even if I forget them.

Let’s prioritize areas that generate revenue.

First, evenings are suitable for blogging and creating content with images and text. Besides the sound of typing, there’s no personal voice involved, and text and images don’t require sound.

Second, programming and coding. Whether it’s independently developing a website or app, or developing Steam games, it all falls under code and programming, or other development.

Third, checking mobile trading platforms, such as taking on side hustles. This involves checking and scheduling, primarily through text communication, but the core is data and operations, such as replying to comments and managing ad placements.

Fourth, data analysis. Evenings are tiring and not suitable for decision-making, but they’re also a good time to organize the day’s income and expenses, to-do lists, and analyze data from internet platforms, such as YouTube views, blog posts, etc. Customer traffic, page views on side hustle trading platforms, etc.

There are also some activities that don’t generate income but are more for entertainment:

First is reading. While books these days lack quality content, they’re still better than the junk information online. Reading at night helps with thinking, and it’s quiet.

Second is playing games. Games are a mini-finance world, with services like game boosting, live streaming, forums, game trading, and even companionship. At the very least, it can help you relax after a long day (of course, I don’t particularly enjoy games and don’t encourage prolonged gaming).

Third is video editing. You can wear headphones while editing videos. As long as you’re not creating content but processing it, you don’t need to speak; you just need to add subtitles, transitions, effects, etc.

Fourth is drawing. I don’t know art, drawing, or professional Photoshop skills, but there are now AI drawing tools, like those on YouTube. The cover image can be handled by chatgpt, or you can use open-source AI to generate it based on prompts, such as Stable Diffusion webui. Your job is to continuously feed the prompts, adjust them, generate the image, and then perform subsequent processing, such as cropping, compression, and adding text.

For example, I’m currently updating my blog, and so far only the sound of the keyboard is playing.

Sleeping task

The logic behind a company’s profitability is that a boss has dozens, even hundreds of employees working day and night.

The boss is asleep, but the company continues to operate.

The logic for individuals to make money is similar: either become a boss, or automate or delegate tasks to robots or AI.

My current logic involves YouTube videos that attract traffic and display ads anytime, anywhere. Time and space are not issues; I can generate income and traffic even while I sleep.

Secondly, there are specific tasks, such as running a program to download content or using AI to generate hundreds of blog-related images or YouTube covers overnight.

In other words,

While you sleep, YouTube continues to generate traffic.

While you sleep, AI continuously generates covers or images needed for YouTube or WordPress blogs.

While you sleep, there are other things that can continuously generate revenue.
