The daily life of a digital nomad: Manual review of long YouTube videos converted to short videos.

Long video to short video

I edited a long AI tutorial video into a short video.

This is the first time I’ve encountered a situation where it requires a second human review.

I’m not sure if the AI drawing triggered the AI content review,

or if the AI drawing was relatively revealing or sexy, causing the human review.

I found that manually converting a long video to a short video not only results in poor resolution but also poor content quality, at least for me.

And triggering a human review is not what I want. Therefore, I’ve temporarily given up on converting long videos to short videos and will either create separate short videos instead.

AI animation

Because software like Blender,

whether it’s 2D or 3D animation, is extremely time-consuming.

Learning it takes several months, and production takes several more months. Ordinary people simply don’t have the time to create animations, except for AI animation.

I tried using Stable Diffusion Animatediff to create AI animations,

but found that it didn’t produce the smooth effects shown in online tutorials. Instead, it didn’t look like animation at all; it was just a combination of different images.

Furthermore, my graphics card is very weak; generating a single image takes several minutes, let alone a video.

Manually creating animations is incredibly slow and tiring, so I gave up on the short animated video direction.

YouTube live stream

I tried live-streaming my cooking today.

It was just simple egg noodles. I don’t know if it was the initial popularity of YouTube live streams or the stream itself having viewership,

but within the first 5 minutes, there were 20 people watching simultaneously. However, I usually end my live streams after 7 minutes; I leave as soon as others join in.

Tips

Overall, YouTube revenue remains unchanged.

I’ve been trying different content formats for the past few days, switching between short and long videos, and also experimenting with live streaming.

However, there’s been almost no good result. Long videos still have zero views, short videos still only get 1K views, and live streams still don’t generate any revenue.

I don’t know how to optimize it further; I’ll just have to see how it goes. Right now, it’s evening, which is still only suitable for blogging or video editing, not for speaking loudly or adding voiceovers.
